We made plaster carvings to help with the balance of our sculptures. We started by mixing our plaster using the "Mount Fuji" method. After the plaster was mixed, poured, and set, we started our carvings. We drew our rough designs onto our plaster blocks, and then carved the rough shapes. We eventually got down to the fine details and finished our sculptures.

My idea for my carving was a man or zombie crawling out of a grave. Originally, there was going to be a large cross at the head of the grave. I learned how careful you had to be with plaster when that broke off. I managed to salvage this by turning it into a gravestone. It was also difficult to get a solid sphere for the head of the man. The rest of it was fairly easy though, you just had to be careful when setting the carving down.
